Oscar went behind him to do a deal with DAZN after Canelo specifically told him not to include his name in a GGG deal. Canelo is a fighter who has his head switched on. He isn’t one of these dumb boxers who are been used to play network politics. GBP didn’t need to promise DAZN that Canelo would fight GGG a third time for them to get a deal from DAZN.

No one at Canelo's level NEEDS a long term contractually relationship with a promoter.

No fighter needs a promoter who isn't operating in their best interest.

That said I suspect Canelo will fight under his own banner or will outsource his promotions fight by fight once his deal with GBP is over. I would suggest it's possible, although I wouldn't bet on it, that Canelo & GBP get on better terms & GBP ends up being the fight by fight handshake type deal promoter after the deal is up but I'd be surprised if Canelo signs another long term deal with them.

        is this relationship done?
Who actually cares about such nonsense? So what?

What exactly is the significance of it in anyone's life for a boxing fan?

Canelo is a student of the game he has always paid his dues to the game.

Just was surprised really to see that Canelo and GBP still aren't really talking...you can tell Canelo is pissed at them, and likely because they are putting him in the position to where he has to take this fight...and he seems like he would rather not...not unless it is 100% on his terms...which is understandable in a way, he is a huge star.

Canelo would be nowhere close to what he is had it not been for GBP

False rumors both have been seen on Mexican tv talking and hanging out recently.

But the haters looking for anything nowadays.

Just like Oscar and Floyd before him, Canelo no longer needs a promoter.
He could have made his DAZN deal by himself and received the same guarantees.
I’m sure once this 10 fight deal is up he’ll do his own thing. He’s talked about being done at 35. He’ll be 30 when this things up and can do a fight by fight deal for his last 10.
Oscar has done a hell of a job guiding his career for obscurity to the top of the mountain. But everything in boxing runs its course. Canelo and Oscar don’t have to say a word to each other for the remainder of the deal. Plenty of middle men.
