Spinks is by far the most underrated fighter in the game. Ive never seen a guy do so much and get so little respect. Spinks would eaisly kill Rivera and he would also definatly beat Mosley. Shane also knows this and thats why he's going back down.
Shane cant beat Spinks because he's not a lefty & he is not big enough to cause Spinks problems like Karmazin is. He doesnt have those long arms and he wont be taller then Spinks.
Spinks would box his socks off
This is long but trust me it goes by quick & is very interesting. It wont seem long when your reading it.
Last year I liked to rewatch some of our games over & over to really break down things & scout. If you watch alot you can really scout well & get a feel for what teams do. Last year I had got so good that I could actually predict alot of our plays right on the money.
For example, if we ever got a penalty & it was 2nd & long, like 2nd & 15 or 20, then we will always run a screen. Gibbs would do that 99% of the time last year and most of the times we got big yards on it and even would get the 1st. Another example is if our Tail Back lines up behind the QB but over either TE then it would be a Counter Trey to the opposite side and thats a 100% of the time. If he's over the TE then its a counter trey the other way. We even bring the RB in motion sometimes & stop over the TE but and then run the counter trey.
Onto the scrimmage, I already told you guys last week that I was really impressed with Brunell. I love Al Saunders and thinks he's a genius. We kept it very Vanilla last week but we still also gave alot of glimpses of what we are going to run and its the exact samethings he did in KC. Campbell doesnt know the system yet and thats why he is 3rd. If you watch the plays we ran in the scrimmage you can really tell this because Campbell's stuff was so basic & ordinary while Collins ran alot of our plays. Campbell would run just 2 WR sets. It was a base package. When Collins was in we went 3 wide nearly the whole time.
Its going to be so exciting this year because I honestly believe that our base package will be 3 wide & we are going to attack. Its weird because its a little like Spurriers offense except we do everything with pure speed. The majority of Al's stuff sends nearly everyone into the route also just like Spurrier. That means you have to get rid of the ball quick. Unlike Spurrier, for some reason in Saunders offense you can still get the ball downfield because he teaches you to run your hardest. You have to shoot of the line because Brunell has to throw quick but we still want to go downfield.
We also ran alot of draws when Collins was in. We ran almost everytime out of 3 wide. We will have so much explosion on the field that you will have to have your Nickle out there but we will still run the ball with draws. The best thing was the screen passes to the HB that Gibbs never runs. Its so awesome the way we did it. We would run those pass plays out of the 3 wide sets, then the draws, then the next play we will have 2 wide and a TE to one side and have just Moss on the other side.
The 2 wide & Cooley would go out for a regular pass but it would all be crossing routes, then on the other side Moss would just go deep like a jet, then the HB would stay back and then leak out to Moss side and everything would be wide open because Moss cleared it out with the deep route & if you watch on TV you would think the ball was for sure going to the other side because there's 3 guys over there & the QB looks over there from the jump but then the play comes back the other way at the last second. Portis or Betts will have big plays on this. We will be unstoppable & I think the #1 O in the NFL.Last edited by DLT; 08-11-2006, 04:08 PM.Comment

You must be seeing something in Spinks that I don't. Yes he has good pure boxing ability but you can't ignore his less than stellar chin and that he has no real power at 154. That being said, I think he COULD outclass Rivera to win a UD. On the other hand he has two chances against Mosley... slim and none and slim is out of town. Mosley has enough power to rock Spinks' world like Zab Judah did. Mosley probably isn't at his best at 154, but he KO'd Vargas twice. IMO Vargas is much more durable than Spinks. Spinks clearly wouldn't be as easy to hit, but I think Mosley's speed and punch output insure that he would land enough shots to stop Spinks. If Karmazin had been more active he could have beaten Spinks.Originally posted by DLTSpinks is by far the most underrated fighter in the game. if they fought at 154 Spinks has a good chance beating Shane if he boxes from the outside and uses his jab properly IMOOriginally posted by amagninYou must be seeing something in Spinks that I don't. I feel you, but Spinks has to fight a nearly perfect fight for 7 out of 12 rounds to even consider winning. Shane could KO him and he can't KO Shane and its not like Shane can't box. While it is by no means impossible for Spinks to win, I think DLT is a bit overzealous when he says that Spinks would box Shane's socks off.Originally posted by realboxingfanif they fought at 154 Spinks has a good chance beating Shane if he boxes from the outside and uses his jab properly IMOComment

People just **** on fighters they don't like. Spinks gets no respect because people don't like the way he fights. A guy like Gatti gets more praise because he has a lot of fans, but he really hasn't done much...Originally posted by DLTSpinks is by far the most underrated fighter in the game.
