Problem with that logic is, a poor decision can be the difference between being "important", or not.

Look at literal hype job Saul Alvarez. If fights against Lara and GGG are scored responsibly, his record would be more representative of his abilities, and casuals would have a more grounded view of him.

Very good point. I thought his fight with trout was close as well, but the open scorecards told otherwise and made trout aggressive and got KD lol

Whyte is nothing special. Mike Tyson would have ran through him like he did Pinklon Thomas because that’s his equivalent.

...I'm sorry, did you just call a guy whose only loss is to The Best to Ever do it, who held belts in three divisions at the same time, who stopped a light heavy when he used to campaign at 140, who remains the only active fighter who can sell out...a 'hype job'?

His career has been on training wheels. Yes. He's unimpressive. Bricks for feet, pedestrian ring IQ puncher who picked up a moderate amount of upper body movement late in his career and his ballwashers say he's got good defense. And fanbase has nothing to do with skills. He was forced down fans throats by Oscar he was never a natural star. He was a manufactured desperate attempt to fill a looming void as Floyd approached real retirement ending an era but thankfully the HW division came alive and a star in lower divisions is no longer critical to the sports success.

Let me ask it this way.

Who, as an active boxer, draws more money than Carnelo?

You must really hate Canelo man...😂

                  PED cheat? Yes

                  Couple of questionable decisions? Definitely.

But he’s still a supremely talented fighter, nobody with any credibility can deny that. I know some of his fanboys are unbearable but Canelo is a great fighter IMO.

Have you ever watched Canelo live? I was far more impressed with him up close and personal than I have been watching him on TV.

I had that fight for Chisora too. I thought he won the Parker and Rivas fight even though there was a bit of an issue with the gloves thing in the Rivas fight. In the Parker fight I think the first KD was a clash of heads. But this are some of the things that goes your way when you are fighting at home. Parker himself got decisions like that going his way whenever he fights at home.
