Was Joe Calzaghe cheating with his gloves like Tyson Fury?

Joe Calzaghe was called Calslappy because he was said to be slapping his opponents instead of punching his opponents . You all saw the effects of the so called ‘slaps’ on Jeff Lacy. Lazy was a bloody mess from those. Do you think Joe Calzaghe was also cheating like what Tyson Fury is alleged to have done against Wilder and who knows maybe Chisora and other fighters?

Absolutely not. Neither Fury or Joe cheated in any way. Joe had a long career and fought in front of many referees and was never accused of cheating and his opponents never accused him of cheating by slapping them. The nickname was not given to him because he slapped his opponents because he did not slap them. he punched them. Lacy was a bloody mess because Joe PUNCHED the sh it out of him. Simple as that.

No, he was not cheating with his gloves, he was slapping with his palms.

I didn’t see too many slaps in the Lacy fight. In fact, the so called slaps were when Joe was trying to get his punches around a high guard. Lacy got pummeled with uppercuts, hooks and straight combinations.

Odd that you don’t cite all of Ward’s cheating and dirtiness. Hopkins too.

          Joe...didn't slap? Really?

Manfredo fight, right before the stoppage. How dare you say that's not slapping.
