With the rise of the more civilized and sophisticated team sports, Boxing and even the original Olympic sports where slowly phased out 'People don't really have to fight anymore, Leisure activities historically? Are now professional sports' Boxing was never a leisure activity, even though they are trying to devalue it and make it into a leisure activity now 'It most certainly is not, because Boxing is a way of life'

The society has cultural evolved it is going to be very difficult for the UFC to reach the heights that boxing has achieved in the past 'The environment and people have just simply changed' most of US members here, in some ways we are old school 'There must be some primal genetic traits in us, that are still activated' That is why we value combat sports.

The UFC's peak was pretty much close to 10 years ago, since then their business model is working extremely well 'But it has not swallowed or taken over boxing'. Boxing is a simple combat sport, and its all inclusive business model which some people are negative about? Actually is one of the reasons it CAN and Will survive, it has no central governing body you cannot pin-point its Nucleus 'Boxing is like Sky-net from terminator' It is everywhere. Boxing does not exist under one organisation or umbrella, it is just OUT THERE integrated into the fabric of society 'A combat sport of romance, simplicity in participation and honor'

The UFC's big promotional weapon to swallow boxing, was that it was the ART OF FIGHTING. Triathletes do swimming, running and cycling WHY are these guys not swallowing Michael Phelps? Usain Bolt? Eddy Merkx? It is not even a case that UFC fighters are not experts, it is just that boxing is the most honorable form of combat 'It is strict, It is masculine' There is nothing deceptive about it, and this has a effect upon the human psyche 'We have heard all those sayings? YOU cannot hide who you are in the boxing ring, you don't get that within the UFC'

Martial arts due to its nature can be a deceptive art, I participated in karate as a kid 'And for me personally I think it is the best form of martial arts, Jiu Jitsu? I never really gravitated towards it, disliked it' Best off participating in Olympic Wrestling.
    Excellent post my man.

I love the comparisons between a triathlete and Michael Phelps/Usain Bolt. I completely agree...

Boxing has a rich history behind it and even apart of American Culture.

Boxing and MMA/UFC are in two different lanes. Always was and will be

Theres so many ways to win or lose in mma, creates a lot of parity. Sum may think that makes for more intriguing fights, but it also fails to create superstars and superfights. Khabib being an undefeated champion with a difficult style to overcome is intriguing to watch to see if he will lose. Once he does, his wrestling won’t be that intriguing to watch anymore.

Its like food, if I want a sub sandwich I go to a sandwich shop, if I want a steak I go to a steakhouse.

I like both but neither could be a substitute for the other.

Two totally different thing only having the label of combat sport as a commonality just like steaks and subs are food.

I dont think so but around 2008/2009 it sure looked like it was possible but they lost all that momentum over time . For me there is no comparison I find the crude brawling stand up fights in mma the most fun and honestly it's just poor mans boxing with some kicks and 4 oz gloves at that point . I mean I'll watch a big mma fight but I wont pay for a ppv . I respect the ground game but I dont care to watch it let alone pay for it . Theres a reason high level boxers make alot more money then their same level counterparts in the mma

UFC has its popularity around the Ultimate fighter and through 2011, then had Brock, then had Conor and Ronda. Now it has nothing.

Well said. Wrestling, shin kicks, tackling, choking, has been around since the beginning of time. There’s a reason boxing was the sport that came into vogue. Punches are still everyone’s favourite part of mma even. Kickboxing has never taken off world wide either. U will always been able to usually earn the most being a good puncher or at least striker, so when u tackle someone we know it’s for a reason.

Women fighters do female mma fighters make more than female boxers and they do get a bit more recognition there. Look at Heather Hardy and Amanda Serrano.

Amanda Serrano has been boxing since 2009
And she’s scheduled to fight Katie Taylor
If she was making more in mma , I honestly don’t think she’d risk it with boxing
It’s always been known that there is much more money and fame in boxing
Like I said earlier on , there’s a reason why white and the Zuffa brothers have been trying to penetrate the boxing market
