Instead of hating on this or that, why not appreciate that the Bobfather is trying to keep boxing active through the Corona virus sports hiatus in a safe manner?

Yep and it could be a good opportunity for boxing to get a lot more exposure, could be a real good thing if run properly.

If done right, this could actually be pretty cool. No crowd influence, you'll be able to hear every punch that lands, cinematic angles, etc.

I’ll agree I’ve enjoyed watching sum fights with the sound off before. Sometimes hearing the same commentators for years gets old. There’s definitely an influence from those talking, usually over selling punches or calling shots that never landed ( Most boxers commentating are very good at avoiding this though ) Crowds do the same, especially if one fighter has a huge fan base in the crowd. It won’t be the same for sure, but sometimes I get tired of the long winded productions. Two tables of commentators, back room reporters. Video packages. Ten minute interviews from The Paul Brothers. Three national anthems sometimes. If the Canelo v BJS fight comes off in May I’ll be surprised. Virus numbers are rising, and even if they start to go down by then it will be a result of these mass gatherings not happening. Will be interesting to see. It’s in Hearn and DAZN benefits to keep people thinking it will happen till the last minute though.

It would be strange watching fights without a crowd but this is a great idea. This way we get to at least see fights.

Oh man I sure hope so!!! Even before all this current mess I was worried about the fight not coming off just due to the politics of the reported ****** situation in China. I’m not saying I read anything about it going to be an issue. Still this is boxing and everything makes me nervous about fights stalling. I just need to see more Beterbiev before anything else honestly. Any result is better than him languishing and then not ever getting to really know... they can fight on a helicopter pad on a yacht dragged out to international waters, with a skeleton crew.
