So much hate and racism where there should be compassion and empathy.

There’s a difference. See my family doesn’t put itself in situations where they come in contact with police. They don’t hang around other criminals, they don’t go around getting into fights and if armed it’s done so legally with a CCW. As such a member of my family wouldn’t get shot up by police.Comment

I’ll say the same thing I said to the one making the comment. There’s a difference. See my family doesn’t put itself in situations where they come in contact with police. It seems like there are a lot of pathetic scumbags here who are jealous they didn't get restitution. Shame on you all for throwing shade at a family who are dealing with a son/brother who was killed unjustly in cold blood. No amount of money will change what happened but those responsible for this atrocity deserve to pay.
There's enough bad karma on this thread to last a lifetime.Comment

The BART police shot him. Bay Area Rapid Transit. Not the Oakland police. BART has to pay this not the tax payers. Expect fares to go up for riders to cover the cost. Just like when PG&E equipment fails or causes damage, they pass the cost off to the consumers by raising rates.Comment

Rip...but damn it seems like Mayfield's brother was a bit of a trouble maker. Non the less, he should have at least got the warning shoot & definitely shouldn't have gotten shoot in the back, since he was no longer a threat at that point. That's good money though, for the sake of his memory his family should invest that money & make that generational wealth. Be smart with it, that way his life was not in vainComment
