Comments Thread For: Manager: Joseph Parker Would Love To Put Junior Fa in His Place

In the very near future, there should be confirmation on whether or not a heavyweight grudge fight will happen between former WBO heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker and undefeated Kiwi rival Junior Fa.

Not the first fight I'd choose first for Parker, but I'm into it.
With the world on lockdown, a local darby could be just the ticket while NZ remains only mildly affected with few COVID-19 cases here.
God knows we could use something to watch with all the sport that's getting canceled!

They're 2-2 in the amateurs, so it makes sense to have a tie-breaker. Parker deserves a chance to prove how much he's improved since then.
    Tonga vs Samoa too!
Stay busy and get back up there champ!

Parker may not ever beat a top-three heavyweight, but he's legit top 10 and deserves shots in that league. If he has to bide his time after his Johsua and Whyte losses then so be it. The Whyte fight was close enough to keep me believing, and if he can improve his game a little more as he approaches his 30s then he can become a two-time world titleholder.
I can't help but think a respectful change of trainer would benefit his chances, many have said it, but perhaps he's too loyal for that to happen.

P.S. I know very little about Fa, but this might be his best chance to promote his name, if he can take Joe out against the odds that is.

Put on a good card here in NZ and it would sell for sure, as well as being a good tune up for parker to get back into the top mix.

Fast Eddie just needs to sheeit or get off the pot when it comes to promoting parker as it would be his last fight while he's still signed to matchroom.

Parker might even be better off going back to top rank or pbc to clean out some of their hype jobs.

I get this is NZ fight but it's a bit disappointing for me. I want to see Parker in against someone like Ortiz or Wilder.

Beyond building his profile in NZ - Junior Fa is a no reward fight for him. Parker could do badly in this fight through lack of motivation. Fa is going to be the only one taking it seriously

Parker is very good but Fa is not bad as well.
