I think this is where i now have issues with PBC/Al Haymon, in
the beginning Haymon was about the boxers, he was a manager/adviser and he was good at it, making his boxers basically free from any promotional ties and advising them on what sort of deals is beneficial to them without them signing their lives away to any promoter, but then he himself became a promoter (Without a legal licence) and that made it a conflict of interest from HIS OWN business point of view, because THEN he had the same hands in the jar that promoters have.

What NOW makes it worse for his boxers are the facts that he would now advises them to reject deals bases on his own business interests, not based on what is great for the boxers.

And most of these boxers are not educated or business astute to see or know this NOW, it would be down the line that we would see boxers realising what had happened to them.

Yeah, the reason none of the name PBC fighters defected to Hearn is that they saw what happened to guys when they went over to SMS and Rockfella boxing. Haymon had a proven track record of taking care of his guys and doing right by them.

That's changed now. Will be interesting to see how the market adjusts.

How has this changed? There is no proof from anyone that there was a $5 mil offer from AJ for kownacki. The article on this site indicated when Hearn asked if Kownacki was available, they found out he already had a signed contract for a fight TBD with pbc. The article never mentions an offer being made or a dollar amount.

The change is that there is a conflict of interest now; Haymon has an interest in not letting his guys go to, say, ESPN to fight Crawford or DAZN to fight someone, even if the money and opportunity are better than what Haymon can line up for them in-house.

I definitely think/know he takes care of them, none of them is complaining, they need a couple of 100K and he probably sends it to them and keep them sweet. So these boxers are loyal to him in that sense.

Is that about money or fairness of competition? If it's only about the payday, so be it, then I agree with you.

As a manager/promoter, it isn't smart to have your fighter fight on the opposing fighters network, with that opponent's promoter being in charge of all logistics, if winning the fight is the goal. You put your fighter in the position of essentially having to win by KO because the likelihood of a UD win is diminished given the influence the promoter has on judges and refs.

Additionally, as much as some posters hate the following fact, the Ali Act lawsuit against Haymon was dismissed for lack of evidence. To suggest there is a conflict of interest when those accusing same couldn't provide any proof seems unfair.
