  • Holyfield in Top Shape For Return

HOUSTON, TEXAS - For those who believe 4-time world heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield, has little left to fight with when he returns to the ring to face Jeremy Bates (American Airlines Center, Dallas, August 18), his trainers, Ronnie Shields and Tim Hallmark, have a message for them -- don't count Evander Holyfield out, just yet.

Thats all fine and good and he is probably in great shape for a guy his age........however he can't compete at the top level anymore I think he has proved that already.

Id also like to add to this discussion...

Jeremy Bates is in the best physical condition he could be in right now and possibly his whole career. He is running/swimming and working hard in the gym with sparring and bag work...

        Should be a good fight.

Holyfield never retired and wont until he is undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world again or is immobilized.

I dont think he should, my response was his answers to people on why he dont retire...I think retirement is long overdue....He uses the excuse that people wrote him off after he fought Moorer and thought he was done....

Evander should retire, Bates is in awesome conditioning but Holyfield will have no trouble in this fight...Although I will say one thing...Bates will make this fight fun to watch.
