without trying to sound like a hater, but pbcs first quarter schedule is disappointing so far.
Besides wilder vs fury (great) and russell jr. Vs nyambayar (decent), most fights aren't competitive on paper (i know that rosario and helenius won big upsets, but doesn't change the fact that those fights were supposed to be showcase fights.

According to boxrec:

Williams vs rosario (top50), garcia vs redkach (top50), hurd vs santana (top50), ugas vs dallas jr. (not even top100), rigondeaux vs solis (top50), plant vs feigenbutz (top50), kownacki vs helenius (top50), wallin vs browne (top50), nery vs alameda (top50), benavidez vs angulo (top50).

Those were the main or co-main events from pbc.
Some smaller fights like fulton vs khegai and perella vs ramos were ok and jamal james vs dulorme is good, but overall pretty slim pickings.

seems like pbc is saving the big matchups for later in the year when they can promote them during nfl games... Just a guess

How did a benavidez-charlo match up ever come into your head as a possibility?

If I’m remembering correctly, he said he was open to fighting Benavidez @ 168 in a interview back in December.

“It would be a Vet vs a Kid” or something like that.

Highly doubt it’ll happen anytime soon, if ever though

If Benavidez goes for the ko it will be a good fight. I think once Angulo stings him early Benavidez will play an AJ and want no part of Angulo. So infront of his fans I really hope Benavidez tries to be macho because this time with Angulo I might get 8-1 odds! Take it to him Angulo!! Watch Benavidez fight scared and run away all night.

Because I think Charlo needs to take risks like that if he wants Canelo. I don't see Canelo coming back to 160. Fighting Benavidez for his 168 title would be better than fighting Derevyanchenko or Andrade @ 160! Like I said, just a dream!

Great card! Gotta love the all-star telecast crew on Showtime....makes me happy I don't have to hear Lennox, Goosen and Kenny on Fox...or Mancini yelling, "Ohhhh! Ohhhh!" after every other punch lands.

Hopefully we'll get Plant/Benavidez by the last quarter of the year. It'll be even better if it were the co-main to a big PPV or a triple-header on Showtime...please, just pleeeease make sure it doesn't land on Fox.
