  • Comments Thread For: Joe Goossen: Ruiz And Arreola Would Be Similar To Arreola-Kownacki

Joe Goossen hopes an Andy Ruiz Jr.-Chris Arreola fight is put together for this summer. Ruiz-Arreola is a possibility, yet not nearly a done deal. If it happens, Goossen, who trains Arreola, thinks it'll unfold much the way Arreola-Adam Kownacki transpired August 3 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

While I'm not sold on Kownacki, I think the competitiveness of his scrap with Arreola had alot to do with Arreola turning back the clock and coming in more prepared than I had seem him in recent years. He looked trim and focused and came to win.

I think the Arreola we saw against Kownacki would be a good fight for Ruiz and a good fight for fans. I imagine Chris would come in aggressive and force the fight to Ruiz, it would be competitive until Andy times and lands a blistering combination.

Then again both could come in unmotivated and out of shape and force us to watch the two of them grapple and gasp air for 12 rounds.

This would be a fun fight and a good way for Andy Ruiz to start his comeback.

He just needs to get with Eddy Reynoso now...

I can't think of a fight I would like to see less than this one. Ruiz should be fighting top 10 guys from this point on. Arreola is rubbish and has been for years.
