On the contrary, he was doing everything he could to make the fight as Saunders is the most vulnerable of the belt holders. Just like fielding was, just like Kovalev was, just like Liam Smith was. Although if we’re being pedantic, Chris Eubank was actually born Eubanks, not sure why they dropped the S. His brother still used the S though and fought under the name Peter Eubanks.

Frank Warren still calls him Eubanks, because he’s used to it from being around when they started.

Their official surname may still be Eubanks on legal documents, i don’t know. Unless he officially changed it.

Saunders is a top-3 opponent for Canelo... there are (realistically) only 2 opponents who could be classified as better... and they are not much better, if at all

Well you and I have had quite a few convos about Canelo, and Saunders over the years. But I think this is a good difficult fight for Canelo and he's picked a good opponent. Full credit to him, a champion should give the young guys a chance to become stars. I dont think Saunders has the pop to quite beat Canelo, but its a style he doesn't like so its intriguing. You know how much I dislike Saunders so I'm rooting for the other guy. The only thing I'm worried about is Billy Joe actually turning up. He's abit of a pull out merchant. Its a better fight than Smith right now because Ryder exposed some real holes in hes game, he struggles with shorter guys it seems, and hes not the finished article yet. Looking forward to this one though.

I didn't say canelo sucks, I said he always picks either opponents that are 35 and older or coming off weak performances, or are just C-Class level opposition.
