I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a boxing promoter make stuff up the way this guy does.

Saunders was reported to be the frontrunner to fight Alvarez back in January. De La Hoya responded by saying Saunders wasn’t the frontrunner. Saunders gets the fight.

De La Hoya said if Saunders didn’t agree to terms by February 17, he wouldn’t get the fight. It’s March 5 and Saunders is getting the fight.

De La Hoya said Saunders was scared of Canelo and didn’t want to fight him. Saunders is fighting Canelo.

I’m going to guess Callum Smith and Caleb Plant will eventually get another offer too LMFAO.

Yes Oscar is a huge liar. Canelo never at any time considered fighting anyone but Saunders just as before when he never considered fighting anyone but Kovalev. All the so called amazing amazing offers he supposedly made to other champions were not serious offers and probably so low no champion would accept them if any offer to anyone but Saunders were ever made at all.As for Oscar saying any champion who turned down an offer would never get another chance to fight Canelo later is more pure BS. After he probably wins Saunders's title he will have to fight the other 168 pound champs including Smith and Plant if he intends to try to unify 168.

I'm promotion agnostic--they're all snakes--but DLH really is the one I notice making more flat out contradictory statements overall. Recently at least. And yeah, "Saunders isn't even a frontrunner" a week or two after it had already been reported Saunders was in fact a finalist is the most recent that stands out.
