The problem with this view is that every human, regardless of race, should be ashed that society allows these people to exist and these things to happen.

If more people actually felt shame about some of the most shameful episodes of our history we would be less likely to repeat them and wouldn't be voting for admitted racists as our leaders and believing them when they say ridiculously racist stuff about people no different from you or I.
