Mayweather was an extremely talented and dedicated man with incredible skills, you can't just rock up to TMT and learn that ***** in 120 days.
Anyone who has boxed - and I am sure there are plenty on here - will surely agree that you can't fix Wilder in a few short months. If that was true then what's stopping everyone else? He's also a late starter to boxing, has flaws from Jay Deas being his teacher, and he's 34.
That was a publicity play by Floyd - Wilder cant reinvent himself at this stage. His best bet is to look at tape and see where there might be some openings he missed, but it's a faint hope at best.
As an aside...did anyone else notice that the right hands he did throw were not dead straight like he often has success with, but they were more looping, around the side type punches. His Breazeale and Ortiz stops were much straighter, down the pipe type digs.

You can teach an old dog new tricks bit as far as reinventing the wheel in for months no it's not gonna happen. What Floyd could do for Wilder in 4 months is get him used to swinging on the back foot. Wilder can set his feet fairly fast naturally so that is something Floyd could capitalize on. Jab and move then when the time is right plant his feet and fire. Would any of that help who knows but it would be better than just walking backwards and being beat on.

Casuals like Dontae do. There's a reason so few great fighters become top trainers. Wilder hasn't learned one thing in 40 odd fights and over a decade and suddenly he'll become a sponge and a talented and skilled boxer not just a slugger? He'll do that under the tutelage of a guy who's never trained one boxer, ran one corner or one training camp? Floyd has probably watched two of Fury's fights at best too so is largely unfamiliar with him.
