We are not in the 60s or 70s, its 2020 and the modern athlete is campaigning much older at a higher level than former generations.

Better nutrition and a way more scientific approach to performance and recovery is giving man much greater longevity.

The very dedicated high level fighters will campaign at top level right up to nearly 50, and this trend will become more common as time passes.

Fighting Spence would fit Pac's modus operandi of fighting dudes coming off a loss, looking unimpressive or returning from a layoff. It was that way for Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Thurman, Oscar and Morales to name a few.
