Prograis: “I love boxing, I love the history of it, I love the sport, I love everything about it and I just want to be the best at it. That's the main thing. I hate losing at anything and I always want to be the best at everything I do. So I take this very, very seriously. For me, it's about improving, and that's what I want to do.”

... It's nice to hear such inspiring words...

He certainly made a lot of fans in the UK during fight-week and for his response to the defeat....... not to mention how he fought.

A good example of losing no credibility in defeat.

I'll probably watch all his fights going forward.

Compare Prograis' reaction to a close loss in a fight which elevated both fighters compared to the embarrassing one-sided thumping Wilder got and the excuses that he's made.

Not sure how you wouldn't be a fan of Regis and how you could be a fan of Wilder.

naw man itll be a great scrap early on but he starches hooker mid to late rounds!

Close decision loss is barely a loss.

Interesting article. I remember making the same assertion that SSM would retire undefeated. His hand and foot speed in his prime was insane. Couple that with a fierce killer instinct and an aversion to throwing anything less than a 3-punch combination, I really thought he was the complete package. He's the last fighter I ever felt that about. It doesn't matter who you are. If you consistently test yourself against the best you will eventually lose.

It wasnt a close fight. IDK why so many people want to convince themselves this. It was competitive yes, BUT Taylor CLEARLY won. Id say 8-4 or even 9-3. Some rds were close but Taylor was the ring General.

Shane just lacked a jab. Had he, I think the latter part of his career wouldve been A LOT different.

Truth be told, he didn't let it all hang out against Taylor. Only downhill from here. I guarantee we see a bunch more close decision losses in his future.
