Wouldn't it be better for the sport to have referees be less involved?

If there's one thing that slows the fights down sometimes, it's when the ref continuously breaks up clinches and holding. But if they tell them to punch their way out and stay back, this seems to work much better and provide the fans with more action.

So is over-officiating hurting boxing and how badly?

That was a really great overlooked fight, I saw it when it aired.

I think Ward sent him to the canvas with that left to the liver, otherwise might have been a draw or Augustus could have won.

I love seeing boxers fight out of the clinch.
Beterbiev is a stand out to me for what I like to see happen in most clinches ATM.

I think if trainers trained their guys to fight out of the clinch they would get a few unsuspecting punches cause ATM most dudes religh on the ref to separate them.
