Is there a doctor on the plane? DW’s eardrum conundrum

I find it highly unusual that Wilder would blame his costume ahead of his eardrum. I thought that it was due to ******ity at first but then I started wondering if he was hiding a recurring problem.

Is there anything that could lead to someone having an eardrum that is prone to bursting? Ear infections, tubes? or maybe the likelihood of it happening again increases with each burst. What’s the deal?

Eardrum busting would be showing weakness. Would also be telling Fury to target that ear again.

He did admit that the equilibrium shot (3rd round) had a big effect. I read that in one of the interview transcripts.

But he also mentioned the costume, and the media jumped on the costume excuse because they knew it was funny and would get the most attention. So basically the media blew it up.

As for the ear, I've seen photos of Deontay with multiple rings and studs on his inner and outer ear. Maybe one of these was partially hidden, and the person in charge of removing them forgot to remove one of the studs.

A hidden piercing on the inside of the ear. That's the only way there could be so much blood coming from his ear. Either that, or his team is lying and covering up details about the eardrum so that the 3rd fight is still on and they won't lose out on the money. And I don't want to believe they're that corrupt.

Wilder's explanation was a cut in an obscure area just inside the ear, correct? Farcical but possible if Fury's glove sc****d across it in just the right way I guess. Beyond the absurdity of the costume excuse I have no idea which to believe between the loss of legs/equilibrium coming from one or more key shots Wilder sustained early on and the ear bleeding truly being the claimed cut, or a busted eardrum being the real root of it all.

I believe I saw that the bleeding from the ear was due to the gauge earrings Wilder wears
