Could be a decent fight, but Povetkin should be absolutely done. He's over 40, got KOd by AJ and just got a draw against Hunter. I'd be shocked if Whyte doesn't take this easily.

Whyte could just fight bums until he gets his title fight but you have to credit him for fighting legit contenders.

Whyte's resume has more depth than Wilder's. Whyte's strategy is a strategy of someone who is not looking for a payday for a championship fight, he takes more and more difficult fights to prepare himself for the Big Three (well, two and a half, the costume dwarfed the third one). I can only commend him for taking a tough fight, its a toss of a coin who's going to win. Age is the greatest equalizer and an aged fighter will be beaten by an opponent with inferior experience and skills. We'll see if Povetkin is at this age now.

Good little fight this, I think pov at this stage is on par with dillion, so it's defo a 50/50 fight, gotta hand it to dillion for taking a risky scrap when he didn't need to, and gotta hand it to Alexander for taking on the no. 1 contender at 40 something years of age. Think Whyte might nick this in the end, but how and when I have no idea, anything is possible. Good luck to both guys.

Ortiz is coming from a loss by stoppage. Ruiz is coming from a loss.

Lol...When has fighting someone after a loss been an issue for Whyte? He fought Malcolm Tann right after a KO loss to Sergey Kuzmin.

When you guys don’t want a fight you just start adding rules of promotion that don’t seem to apply to guys the were truly easy wins.

Ruiz and Ortiz would be great. Miller vs Whyte would be very interesting. How about running Rivas back, given the close nature of the fight and the failed drug testing? Breazeale would be a fun fight.

But why do we need to see the same villains square off at Matchroom. It’s like they fight AJ and just get handed down the line.

Pov does not even look the part anymore. He looks old and soft and has lost most of his explosive power. Any old guy without roids has a physical handicap when fighting a man in his prime.
