There is also the very real possibility that Wilder's reaction to that hook in the 3rd round was a 1 off, or at least, unlikely to recur again.

This is a good point that is being overlooked. How many times have we seen Fury land a punch like that on previous opponents? Now that Wilder knows he's vulnerable to it, what happens if he makes adjustments and Fury suddenly finds himself in there with a strong and fast Wilder with good balance who isn't slowing down over 12 rounds?

Not sure where the confidence comes from. If he comes out swinging he will get timed and Fury could win again employing the same tactics as the last one.
