Did anyone predict Wilder and Joshua would lose before their "Mega-Fight"

Not pointing fingers on who was at fault for stalling the fight... I think it was ****** to let a fight like this marinate too long for the simple fact both guys are too vulnerable to lose.

If Wilder beats Fury he will owe him a rematch after basically losing 2 fights. So he would have to knock Fury out two times to erase any asterisks.

Joshua lost to Ruiz one time so him winning the way he did and how Ruiz handled the fight erased all asterisks.

But now Joshua has Usyk and Fury to deal with.

    Is this mega-fight done??

This is why I always say marinating fights is ******. Fight will never happen now. Wilder brings nothing to table

Letting fights marinate usually has its consequences. Theres a reason why the greats of the 70s, 80s and 90s are revered in the sport.....cause they fought any and everybody! Some fights didnt happen, BUT, for the most part they did.

Why i wished he didn't take rematch right now. It would have been better to let Fury fight AJ first. Then if Fury beat him too AJ vs Wilder would be even in the public's eye imo

I've always assigned about 90% of the blame to team Wilder for obvious reasons. Yes I predicted one or both might lose, I predicted that Ruiz was a tough fight for Joshua (although i thought hed come through) I kind of expected a hybrid of the first and second fight.

Wilders team were trying to get him to play the 'long game' telling him hed be a ppv star like Floyd, but he was never going to get to that...far far too beatable. And as the B side they are more at fault, and when you consider there relative purses since then...it all points to bad business where Finkel and Haymon put their interests first

Regardless of all that... I think team Wilder knowing his limitations as a boxer should have took the fight as soon as they got into a position to demand a bigger purse.

Yes. Lots of Englishmen posted that Fury would win and many said he would win by KO. I never read even one prediction that Ruiz would KO AJ. That took everyone by surprise.

I didn't think Wilder would have the balls to rematch Fury. I thought he would hold his title for longer fighting lower level opponents.

I overestimated joshua. I had no idea he would lose like that against that level of opposition. I thought he'd be protected for a while too.

Despite this I still didn't have high hopes that Wilder and joshua would ever fight eachother. Pessimism is part of being a modern boxing fan.

                  I thought Wilder would.

AJ losing to fat Andy Ruiz was a big shock to me.

Yeah it would be a solid losers bracket type fight like Hooker and Prograis.
