Also, when your corner quits on your behalf, it’s a quit job. Wilder did quit.
    He didn't stop throwing completely.

      Big difference.
AJ said he was ready to fight and the referee waved it off, Wilder eyes were popping out of his eye sockets in fear by round 5 .

AJ was by far the less damaged fighter and the fight was stopped.

If you say AJ quit then so did Wilder .

Anthony Joshua actually took a KNEE. That's surrender.

He went down on his knee, with a smile on his face, with a chubby Mexican standing over him.

In a broad sense he's not wrong. Wilder had mentally quit and wanted out. He was mad at his corner after the fact. But in the moment he was ready to go. I don't fault him or any fighter for it. Not when you take a beating like that. Your body and mind will eventually quit on you no matter what the armchair tough guys say.

Holmes is clearly deluded by his nostalgia though. Ali and Frazier and Norton and Holmes himself would have reacted the exact same way.

He quit in the same way AJ did Vs Ruiz in that he wasn't really fighting back just laying on the ropes throwing the odd half hearted shot, I don't count it as true quittage I just think he knew he was finished

I fully believe that "chubby Mexican" could legitimately kill Deontay wilder in the ring after I seen him get smashed up by a featherfisted blobby Mancunian called Fury.

wilder did the opposite of quit. he did his best and he lost to a better fighter. took a hell of a beating, too. he will not be the same fighter or man.
It wasn't that bad, but it could have been if his corner hadn't stopped it.

I agree though, he didn't quit.

                  Joshua has mad heart
Joshua's fans favorite excuse is the "mandatory" excuse, they have been doing this since the beginning of his pathetic career. I know you're not a joshua fan boy and you probably just respect his hustle but you need to realize that he's been avoiding the best since he went life and death with klitschko.

Against Ruiz he had no other choice, he had to fight him again and the thing is he didn't fight him, he trained to run away from him. He knew and we all knew Ruiz didn't care about the fight, he ate a fkn pizza the night before the fight. And when you look at it, the best option was to fight Ruiz again. Would you rather fight a fat ruiz or fight someone like Fury or Wilder? Which option would give you the easiest fight?

And now it's Pulev, the guy no one cares about, the guy who's God knows how old. I know Ortiz is probably older but even he would of been a harder fight for Joshua.

Why you upset? All these years and only one good opponent..and that was a 40+ year old klitschko. He nearly died in that fight lol..since then it's been bum after bum and instead of revenge he ran away from a short fat Ruiz..and that's who you obsessed with? ..hey i bet you gonna enjoy him fighting some 50 year old eastern European beast like Pulev lol

BTW....how did you feel when Joshua quit against Ruiz in the 1st fight?
