Are the wilder fanbase the worst in history?

Now I think they got voted that a while back in a poll on here but surely they've cemented that since the fight . I've never seen such a ridiculous reaction to a loss in all my life. We've got people making excuse after excuse, some posters claiming he burst an eardrum which was proven a lie, others crying about gloves. Others saying a suit of armour affected him. I'm surprised people haven't been whining about fury punching him too hard. Then we've got many people crying about a racist reaction to the loss when these same wilder fans are the most outspoken out of everyone when it comes to that sort of thing and have absolutely crucified other fighters (who conduct themselves way more professionally than wilder) for losing. Then (in my opinion the worst of all) is the fans who seem to think last Saturdays horrorshow was proof of wilder having a top level chin and recovery rate and others saying he beats everyone else in the division and is still number 2, despite his wafer thin resume and whole career being built on a manufactured 0 and what he'd do in hypothetical match ups. The u turn on fury being the heavyweight malignaggi who couldn't crack an egg to now being the modern day George foreman is quite something too, anyone who followed furys career from the start knows he used to fight aggressively, either he can punch or not it doesn't change on a fight to fight basis so make up your minds.

"Is the Wilder's fanbase the worst in history?"...

... No... I don't think so... Wilder's fans are so candid...

Yeah they are. They should be laughed out of every serious boxing discussion in every land on the planet for the rubbish they've been spouting. Excuse squad can do one.

It feels like it's a big overreaction to having to be so defensive and reflective of criticism. People who have got behind Wilder have had to deflect a lot of statements as to whether Wilder really warrants a place at the table when discussing who is #01 in the heavyweight division. A lot of people (especially from the UK) have been saying for a long long time that once Wilder gets exposed he will fall and the fact it's taken 40+ fights to get here has made his fanbase more and more determined, convinced and resilient as they constantly got the confirmation bias of each-other and more recently from American media and personalities that started to buy into his hype.

Internationally it has felt a lot like Wilder has been on borrowed time and that the kind of beatdown he got was inevitable once his luck ran dry.

I think the hate-bases that certain fighters attract are far, far more annoying than any subset of fans at the minute. Case in point: this thread

I think this is a little unfair because a lot of the fans of yesteryear didn’t have access to social forums like this and their hype / delusions were contained to bars and barbershops. Having said that, the reaction to Wilder’s loss is definitely one of the most emotional and intense I’ve seen for a while.

This shouldn’t really come as a huge surprise though because we need to imagine the types of fans who are attracted to Wilder in the first place. He, himself is extremely emotional, he ends fights in very sudden and satisfying fashion, he professes desires of killing and apparently sees himself as some kind of godlike figure. Like attracts like and polarizing characters attract and interest similarly polarizing people. It’s no wonder we have such enthusiastic cries of cheating, sabotage and elaborate stories of double agents from the very man who threw the towel in to save his life.

Now just to be clear, I’m a fan of wilder as I’m sure many others are. Not every fan is crazily and emotionally invested, it just seems a larger than average portion of Wilder fans are. However, all champs have their fan bois and tunnel visioned fools, it just so happens in this case, the boxer himself seems to be as well!

They remind me of the Pacquiao fans. They're even making petitions.

A fan base populated by low IQ having gimps. What do you expect?

The cult leader is also the dumbest boxer in history.
