If it was really that close, given the A side money making cash cow he is.....they would have just given Canelo the W not a draw to save face.

nah, that talk is revisionist bullshlt... from fans who desperately wanted Golovkin to win

Canelo won AT LEAST 5 rounds in that fight... NO question

in 5 of those rounds, ALL THREE JUDGES awarded those 5 rounds to Canelo

the reason why ALL three judges awarded those 5 rounds to Canelo, is because he won them CLEARLY... no question, they were not even close

that actually is the main point... the rounds that Canelo won, he won CLEARLY... and yet the rounds that Golovkin won, were nip-n-tuck and some were difficult to score

talk about scoring 8-4 for Golovkin cannot - and should not - be taken seriously

    e.g.
boxingscene.com scored that fight a draw... so did many other news outlets/independents

what happened, really happened... some fans still cannot get over it... THAT is the problem

you guys were simply WRONG about Golovkin... and it serves you right for proclaiming such greatness about a unproven guy who appeared reluctant to step up... the same fate appears to await Joshua fans

Nope, I know what I saw, Canelo gun shy not willing to engage, GGG throwing more and landing the cleaner shots, being the effective aggressor and ring general in most rds.

He clearly won but the boxing biz didn't want Canelo with another loss on his record so they scored it a draw.

I think the Mexican Ginger beats him in a 3rd fight.
        Agree with this

Golovkin was expected to do more and that showed on the cards imho

I don't have a horse in the race with these two so it's funny watching both sets of fans spazzing out

No, he lost the rematch by my scoring but clearly won the 1st fight

                hold on man...

Golovkin was supposed to be the destroyer... not Canelo

Canelo was the boxer, the smaller guy who was coming up in weight

where was Golovkin's relentless pipe-bursting pressure?... where was all that "master-at-cutting-off-the-ring" nonsense?... WHERE WAS HIS TRADEMARK BODYWORK?

FACT: Hypekin could not get his game going in EITHER of those fights

also, how does your convenient criteria... "gun shy not willing to engage" apply to Golovkin in the rematch?... the dude was downright timid

there is a very good reason why ALL THREE JUDGES awarded 5 of those rounds to Canelo... golovkin fans need to learn how to score a fight

                  fair call

but yea... guys who scored the rematch for Golovkin should not be posting their boxing opinions online

dude, even boxingscene (who are not Canelo fans) scored the first fight a draw... if you think Golovkin won 8 rounds in that fight, then you were only watching one guy

What a ****** thread. 115-113 is close.... lol. The same GGG diehards whom say Moretti was the only one whom had it right yet they discredit his scoring in the second fight and claim the whole fight a Draw. The GGG fans are so confused with the 4 Criteria and that there are 3 judges to mediate the balance. Notice no GGG fans ever talked about Trella’s 114-114. They know they’re wrong that they only focus on Byrd’s card. If it was all “corrupt” and the judges pre role how they plan to submit, then all Byrd had to do was score it close for Canelo or even 114-114 which would’ve been a majority Draw. Why would would BYRD create controversy when she only had to submit a close card or a DRAW to assure a rematch would happen? If boxing were corrupt Canelo would’ve gotten the W since Moretti had it close. Both Trella and Byrd would only need to follow MOretti’s lead.

Therefore, why was it hard to score the first fight? Because its simple. The 10 point must system INCLUDES DEFENSE as a criteria. Slipping and dodging offensive attacks comes from the old school. An EFFECTIVE Power Punch is ALWAYS going to favor 2 jabs...especially lazy jabs. It’s not the amateurs to just accumulate and graze the opponents head and rack up points. In prize fighting you have to attempt to really want to hurt the other. The Judges weren’t impressed with just lazy jabs, only Moretti. Canelo made sure to show Moretti Mexican Style in the rematch.

GGG fans get so butthurt that any justification is translated as “Canelo won the first fight” which has never been the case, simply just a means to show the criteria and 3 judges. The DRAW was justified because of the card submissions.

Ok, nothing you said had anything to do with fight one but I believe since you wanna talk about size that Canelo came in heavier on FN for their first fight than GGG.

In any case, he was back peddling alot in that one worried about GGG's power and as a result didn't get too much done.

Thought it was easy to score.
