Two things...one: Wilder is much bigger than you (and me); two: carrying weight in the manner you just described is different than wearing it as wardrobe. I’m not saying Wilder didn’t feel anything, but it’s unlikely to me his excuse accounts for his performance. Fury would’ve beaten him anyway that night (and again when they meet for the trilogy).

... Fury didn't even rough him too badly -- his stiff jab and the combos were more effective... which surprised me, tbh...I know. It came late. And when Bayless decided to do it, I was at a loss. A lot of people were. Sometimes I don’t understand the officiating of these refs.
I’ve never really minded some “dirty” tactics. I consider it the referee’s job to do something about it. But it’s really irritating when a fighter repeatedly fouls or employs gamesmanship and the ref isn’t on top of it.
... I remember that Andre Ward never had Bayless as ref...
 Why that?...

Yeah, it wasn’t nearly as bad as some fights I’ve seen, but the headlocks are a no-no.
The worst is when a ref allows repeated low-blows and does little to nothing.Comment

I do a little farming, and some jobs are not every day, like spraying, or harvesting. If you're not used to it, just carrying a two gallon sprayer will cause muscle ache in your arm. I'm not saying he should be that weak, but it can happen.Comment

I noticed that Fury was clinching excessively, I then I realized that maybe it was his strategy to pick up weight and lean on Wilder to see if he could wear Wilder down knowing his legs were weak. Fury was punching during and after clinches constantly. Wilder mentioned Bayless cautioned him about clinching and rabbit punches and told him he would be watching him and would penalize him if he was to do so. Why was Fury allowed to use the same tactics that Bayless warned Wilder about before the fight?Last edited by rescamil; 02-29-2020, 04:34 PM.Comment

I thought Fury won the first fight, but he's always been a mauler, used his size, and slapped very hard. He's developing some power on the front leg, but he's always been mean and nasty. He toys with his chumps, mostly they walk away bragging about surviving, but Wilder brought the serious Fury while he half assed it. Practiced that right hand and nothing else.Comment

What happened to the days when fighters simply admitted the were beaten by the better man?
Everyone seems to have a pi$$ weak excuse for failure these days.Comment
