Rumour mill: Deontay Wilder won't take the rematch

I'm hearing from reliable sources that Wilder won't take the rematch. He's going to take some time off to heal fully and take a soft touch before facing Fury again.

It looks like that we might get the AJ vs Fury fight in July/August and people are really pushing for that because the stakes are high. FOX and ESPN lost a ton of money in the Fury vs WIlder rematch. And apparently the PPV didn't do as well as they claim in the media in the US. It also bombed in the UK, hence Warren is also vocal about the Fury vs AJ fight. There's also no buzz for a trilogy.

I'm hearing AJ vs Fury might happen at the new Vegas stadium and DAZN/ESPN are ready to put up the bag. But both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are also pushing for it. Don't rule out Canada and the UK as well.

Interesting times ahead. Wilder will most likely ask for a clause that will get him Fury if he's victorious and step aside money.

Good idea. Wilder should take one or two fights before climbing in with Fury again. I think he loses the final installment, but it’ll help build the trilogy more. People just saw him get owned in the rematch. Deontay needs to build some interest with a couple of KOs to show he’s still got it (which I think he does).
