The thing is I am not a Wilder hater

in fact i think people that clown on him are not really Wilder haters

if anything we pity him, of what he could of became.

This man has world shattering power, arguably the heaviest punch in boxing history....and?

he did jack ***** with it, he avoided fighting top guys and padded his reign. He never dedicated himself to learning the finer art of the sweet science, and we all eventually knew he would be exposed some way

It hurts that this man could of been an ATG a certified legend of the sport and yet he simply lacks the discipline to make those changes.

    literally lost potential

I agree I never really watched him or took the time to appreciate him because his technique and iq were horrible. I just began to pay attention to him because of his success, he was defying logic in my mind. I really do feel like he’s let himself down by not focusing on technique. Even if he wins the next one there’s just something missing for me.
He had “ best ever” potential but didn’t sharpen his sword.

It is human nature to take the easy route. Look at all huge one punch guys from today and years past. You will find huge flaws in their game. They fall in love with their own power and everything else isn't important to them. All they can think about is landing that power. After they do lose some work on their technique. Some get better and some just don't.
You see guys like Wilder and Lemieux almost fall over when they miss a punch. They are so in love with their power and that shortcut that they will never improve. They may improve in the Gym, but when it is fight time, their instincts take over.

He never dedicated himself? You don’t know **** about Wilder. Now you want to say he’s not any good or he avoided this guy fine. Dude stays in the gym. You will never see him looking like Dillian Whyte or Ruiz for that matter.

Id like him if he wasn't such a lying ducking moron. Never miss his fights though they are always fun to watch. But I'm no fan of his or the PBC in general.

But I would much rather have him in the sport than not. He's very exciting. He just talks lots of bollocks about fighters he isn't actually willing to fight.

Nice post, yeah he fell in love with his power for sure. It's too late for Wilder to change now, he's too old and set in his ways, hence why the rematch is, in my opinion, pointless. But hey, if Wilder signs up for the third fight and is offered a large amount of step-aside money, but he then rejects the step-aside cash, well, you almost have to respect that level of delusion

I disagree. He's got a basketball players body. They are awkward as hell when you see them scuffle. I think Wilder did the best with what his body type and coordination that he had. He's a hard worker period. The fact that he's reached this pinnacle with the biggest heavyweight PPV in years having never boxed until 18 or 19 is impressive with that lanky body. You don't ask Joe Frazier to fight straighter and use the jab and right hand and circle the ring. Fraziers deal was to get inside punish the body and lands his KO left hook. Same principle, different styles based on God given strengths, body size and type of KO punch.

I don't mind Wilder, I hated his weak title defences, the rigged draw in the first fight and the way Haymon bought the WBC off for years.

Wilder brings excitement he can score devastating Knockouts and that is always fun and the Sport needs that as well...BUT I've always been more of a fan of SKILLED Boxing and the Sweet Science. Most of the Greats of this sport was SKILLED BOXERS and the next generation of greats will be mostly SKILLED Boxers

POWER make for great highlights but Skills Pay the Bills and it allows you to pay your Bills for a long time compared to just depending on Power

It is actually kinda funny to see guys who was once Mayweather Biggest Fans, now backing Wilder and somehow expect him to basically Defy Logic and somehow have anything above a punchers chance at beating Fury who is and always will be the better BOXER! However, Power does matter at heavyweight so all it takes is one mistake and yeah Wilder can Knockout anybody
