The reason Deontay was in significant danger is precisely because Fury isn't a big puncher. A clean knockout is almost always less damaging than round after round of sustained punishment.
Breland made a brave decision because it went against what he knew were Wilder's wishes, and it was also the correct decision.Comment

There’s nothing arguable about your comment pal. Bayless has confirmed he was on the verge of stopping the fight, which clearly means Breland did the right thing. Referee stoppage is worse than your corner throwing the towel in. Breland not only saved Wilder from a severe beating but also saved face. “I was gonna spark Fury in the next round if Breland didn’t stop the fight”...as opposed to...”the third man in the ring saw me take such a beating, up close and personal, and decided I couldn’t carry on.”Comment

Breland is the greatest american amateur boxer in history. No one in Brelands corner know more boxing than he does. Breland did the right thing. If anything it could've been stopped 2 rounds earlier. If Breland gets fired he has nothing to worry about. His stock has risen after this fight. Many people will be requesting his services.Comment

Only people that don’t agree are the non boxers and fans that dksab . Instead looking for illegal gloves/ illegal punch videos . HBO sports had a great little story with the trainer of Patrick Day . After the 8th round Day was dropped twice didn’t look half as bad as DW . Then in the 10th the tragic 2 punch combo that made Day back bounce his head on the canvas eyes rolled back completely white not moving . Trainer wanted to stop it but Patrich told him no in the 8 th he feels good . DW should thank MB from getting seriously injured or out on his shield 🛡 aka stretcher death 💀Comment

Breland sees it all. Kudos to him. It makes no sense extending another round when wilder has nothing left in him. He's legs were gone, his gas tank empty, his hands way down his hips.
Margarito almost lost his eyes when his corner did nothing to stop his fight against Pac. Wilder should be thankful to Breland for saving his career.Comment

Yeah Wilder isn't known for being rational at all. Shame too... when he has an excellent coach in Breland... who was looking out for his well being and future career. SMHComment
