He became very popular in relation to his resume. Mostly from very good advertising, KO’s over C level fighters, his coach promoting him as someone who will fight anyone in any weight class. I felt he lost against Canelo, Jacobs, and Derevyanchenko.
He was looking for “big fights”, and wanted recognition by beating the best and when a really big fight came up a weight class above, he didn’t want any part of it, vs Ward. But then he wanted Chavez Jr at the same weight class, and had no issue fighting Brook, a guy coming up from 147lbs at Middleweight.
The fighters who “ducked” him like Sturm, he wasn’t that good. An aging Sergio Martinez? A fighter of Martinez age and caliber won’t be going after up and coming fighters, ever. An aging Miguel Cotto? Same as Martinez.
So GGG’s storyline is full of comedy to be honest. But I will be fair and give him a B. Because he is actually a very good fighter, just doesn’t have much down there in the form of balls and his promoter and coach helped him develop the crazy fanbase he got by talking about he can beat anyone from 154 to 175 but in reality it was really from 147 to 160.

YOU said... you rank Golovkin " A "... alongside Mayweather and Pacquiao
you could place GGG as a B (though I'd still personally say A)

how the fcuk could Golovkin possibly be ranked alongside Mayweather and Pacquiao you dribbling spastic?

that is FAR more accurate than the usual fanboy dribble in this thread
to form any other rational conclusion... you would need to forget about all the hype/bullshlt that Golovkin failed to live up to... you would need to forget about all the world-class opponents that Golovkin avoided... and you would need to forget that Golovkin struggled when he finally stepped up in class
Golovkin has NO career-defining or signature win... the best name on his resume was a HUGE underdog
I rate him B-

so yea, I definitely do not grade Golovkin... " A "
I give his career a B overall.
