Regardless not sticking up for wilder, I’m knocking Wlad. Since he retired people suddenly love the guy like he didn’t ruin the HW division.
He only ruined the division cuz nobody could beat him. There really weren’t many guys out there that could have taken the torch anyway. It was more a lack of interesting fighters that ruined the division. But say what you will about wlad, even when he lost, he bounced back and eventually had the division on lock. We’ll see how wilder handles this set back.

If you go by Ring Magazine rankings Klitschko beat plenty of guys who were in the top 10 including Chris Byrd, Jameel McCline, Sam Peter, Lamon Brewster, Sultan Ibragimov, Tony Thompson, Rulsan Chagaev, Eddie Chambers, David Haye, Alexander Povetkin, Kubrat Pulev and Bryant Jennings. Thats a lot more than wilder.

Was his style that killed it IMO. That ****ing jab and grab protect the chin “borderline legal” Clinchko **** I’m talking about. Though competition was also ****, you’re right about that.

Disagree about the bounce back thing though. He had to get Vitali to go get his belts back from Saunders lol.

Lol...I was a big fan of Saunders after that fight. I still remember how distraught vitali looked in the corner...then he was staring Saunders down in the ring afterwards.

Lol Saunders was the man. I also love that he preferred golf over boxing.

And as much as I’ve always disliked Wlad, I’ve always had the utmost respect for Vitali.

Yea vitali had a real awkward style but he was definitely the tougher of the two.

When he came back after four years and without even taking a tuneup went out and beat the complete dog**** out of Sam Peter and won back his belt....**** man, it was unreal to watch at the time.

I don't believe Wilder would've lost to any of the fighters Wlad lost to except Fury of course. And there isn't one fighter who Wlad beat who I think Wilder couldn't. He lost to the same fighter Wlad did, but much more combatively.

Yea, never thought much but f peter, but vitali was a gamer. Wish Lewis would have rematched him.
