Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing USA are delighted to announce the signing of amateur standout Marc Castro. Castro leaves the amateur scene as a highly decorated former Team USA member. In 2015, Castro was the lone American to win a gold medal in Saint Petersburg, Russia at the Junior World Championships. In 2016 he won another gold medal for Team USA in Russia at the Youth World Championships becoming only the second American to ever do so, while also being the youngest member of the USA squad.

Could be quite a coup for MRUSA here... be interesting to see how fast Hearn and Connolly decide to bring him along. Whatever else it speaks of, it does look like a long term investment though - I'd imagine 3 or 4 years at least before he's fighting at elite level (if he makes it that far).
