Comments Thread For: Canelo Expects To Finalize Foe Shortly, Not Certain on GGG Trilogy

The negotiations to finalize opponents for Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez have never been simple in the last few years. The complaints are constant with respect to the money, the contractual clauses and various details, but in the end it is a process by which everyone must go through.

Ridiculous that he gets paid the amount he does. Doesn't move the needle with casuals or general sports fan. Grossly overpaid by Dazn.

It's Billy Joe. Canelo and Billy have been training already they're just waiting for the Fury Wilder buzz to die down before they make the announcement. Likely to be announced this Saturday at the Mikey Garcia fight at the very latest

He needs ggg to age a couple more years just to be extra sure he can genuinely beat him 3rd time around.

He’s taking too much time. Starting to lose interest in him like a sequel that comes out way too late.

Who cares about Canelo, he is yesterday's news...whoever he "picks" is losing whether legitimately or not, most of his fights are fixed so who cares about this guy.

U think ggg will b better fighting him at 168? I had ggg first fight and draw 2nd. Did sergey show blueprint to beat ggg? Wish top guys fought 3 times a year.

Negotiations are difficult because they usually involve advantages for the a-side.

Funny wasn't it that long ago that Canelo couldn't fight GGG because GGG was too heavy and he needed time to move up?
