The recency bias is real in this thread, if Fury loses to Joshua or someone else within the next year or 2 then some of the comments in this thread will look a bit silly.

I'd also favor prime Bowe over Fury.

It's more his complete skills and ability to adjust and fight a bunch of different fights whoever the opponent is

I get that because he is the most complete HW in the game right now but I don’t think his resume and quality of opponents is high enough that all the greats of the past are underdogs or without a chance.

His resume is literally Wlad and Wilder, those are great wins but unless you’re saying those 2 are the toughest fights for Fury in heavyweight history then I think this thread is indeed a product of recency bias.

Wilder was supposedly well on his way to being one of the greatest HWs of all time according numerous people on here before Saturday night, bring up that notion now and you’d be laughed at by the majority.

And besides... Henry Cooper dropped and nearly KO’d Ali with a similar rogue wave sort of shot. We don’t hold that against him, do we? Sometimes the stars align for these journeymen and they nearly take out a legend.
besides which ali used hos elbow to trap Cooper to survive?

I dont get why you would use an argument that instantly fails. It just means you got to try again the next day.

I'd pick Lewis, Holmes, Ali, Liston. My all-time favorite heavyweights are Holyfield and Frazier but I think the size could be an issue but don't forget how well they fought inside unlike Wilder. They also had more guts than Wilder, more mental strength and chins. Bowe I think has a great shot. A big man who could fight great inside though I think Fury probable boxes and moves on him. Foreman could comb him out but could also get gassed early and slapped around. Louis you'd have to favor over Fury too despite the size differential. Fury beats any Wlad or Vitali IMO.

Tyson vs. Tyson? I think Fury is all wrong for him. It's very early to tell though. Let's see Fury be an active champion and fight Joshua, Usyk, some more different styles and sizes.

My bad. That 220-230 for a young foreman is right.

Well I never scored it for Wilder and haven't seen many who have...I do think a draw was very possible, and in fact the right score.

The first 6 rounds were very tight, tense, feel out rounds..some seem to give rounds to one guy (defensive guy/underdog) in a fight where not much action happens sometimes...I don't give credit for feinting and posturing and acting like a jive turkey in there either.

I am just scoring the action in there...and in the first 6 rounds, the action was very even...Fury's 8 pitty pat shots to Wilder's 6 slightly better shots...that makes for close rounds when that happens.

People swearing Fury won 10-2 or something there...I mean I just don't think a lot of people on here really know how to score a fight...and then a lot of others don't really want to score them correctly...just trying to find any reason to give their guy a round.

Last 6 rounds was clear 4-2 for Fury...first 6...I could see 4-2 for Fury...and think 3-3 was the right score...give those rounds another watch sometime.

Salty much? I’m always right, if you want to go toe to toe, loser boy lol. Pulled that comparison off the top of a bottomless boxing knowledge bin. The elbows weren’t a big deal so I overlooked your asinine comment on a fight you apparently didn’t see. I’ll dig a little deeper next time so long that it pleases your highness. If you ever need clarification or an education then you come to me and I’ll help remove that deer in the headlights look from your dumb face, aight?
