Well, Thomas, Tucker and Tubbs of the mid-80's would of beaten any version of Lewis or Holyfield.
Did Tyson dominate HW division in a weak era?

Pinklon was an elite lb4lber, Tubbs one of the slickest HW's and Tucker one of the best HW prospects there's been. Neither Holyfield or Lewis were in that HW class. Rid**** Bowe was, just.Comment

tyson never had to come back in a fight, he always seemed to run through his opponents, that made him a good fighter but not a great fighter. if he had kept this up for 4 or 5 more years i could have called him great or dominant. I would have like d to see him in a fight were he wasnt expected to win. Like if he had made it out of the Douglas fight,(even with the knock down) win or loose that fight i would have giving him more credit than his normal run thru victims. he seemed to loose by KO when ever he got into a fight.Comment

To be considered great he needed to make a comeback in a fight. Or beaten Holyfield in the rematch.
Yet he did fight back against fighters. The first Ruddock fight comes to mind.
Ruddock opened up on him several times, and Tyson fought back, scoring an excellent knockdown and eventually stopping him.Comment

Yes, but the point is he beat what was available. He was gonna fight Evander but he lost to Douglass. Lewis and Bowe didnt turn pro untill 1988, and I believe Holyfield moved up to HW in 1989. Then he went to prison. Ruined his career.Comment
