  • Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: I Only Showed 50% In First Fury Fight

Deontay Wilder believes he only showcased half of his full potential the first time he met Tyson Fury in 2018 when he battled his way to a highly disputed split decision draw. "I was anxious and overly excited in the first fight. It wasn't me. It was 50 percent. This time it's going to be all me, and people can expect a knockout in devastating fashion and nothing but greatness," Wilder told BoxingScene.com in an interview. "I love to be who I am and the mindset that I have. I can turn boxing on or off as needed."

This fight is basically 2 unproven undefeated boxers meeting to see who gets to fight the real champion

Deontay was nowhere near 100% for the first fight. He was fighting sickness most of camp, and he still put Fury on his ass twice.

This right here is the difference between the Mamba Mentality and the Victim Mentality - Mamba's don't make excuses and play victim.

50%, sick, injured during training; None of that matter once you are in that square arena. Win, lose, or draw; one of those columns will be filled tonight.

Leave the excuses at home and let's get it on!

He was 209 pounds verse 231 pounds now... him being sick is a high possibility.

He was overly excited and anxious? Sounds like the biggest stage he’s ever been on got to him?

Did you see the video yesterday, his team trying to reassure him that it’s his event? Seemed like he needs reassurance for his nerves or they know it’s a real pro Fury crowd.

Do you think a guy like Fury needs people around his reassuring him like that?

                Around 5.50 in this video:

I'm not doubting it, it's just that's the last thing a boxing fan wants to hear after the fight.
