Earlier today, I made this remark about commemorating Joe Frazier's accomplishments to the city of Philadelphia and boxing:

Its a damn shame. The Rocky statue has alot of historical significance, as it represents the hard luck courage and toughness of the Philadelphia fighter. However, Rocky was a fictional character. Joe Frazier, who is the prototype and standard of the Philly warrior, deserves a statue of his own in the city of Brotherly Love. Joe Frazier has been shortchanged by history, and is not getting the respect and honor he deserves. They should erect a statue to commemorate probably the greatest Philadelphia fighter that ever entered the ropes.
