IMO, I think even 600k is a fantasy. Maybe it can do that in the UK with their more moderately priced PPV’s of $27 dollars. Def not happening in the US at $80 for the PPV.

Lol 2 million. Mayweather vs Pacquiao II, Canelo II, McGregor II...can do that. Maybe Canelo vs Pacquiao as well, Canelo vs McGregor. Pacquiao vs McGregor. Those are the only matches right now that can do 2 million+ buys.

I'd be absolutely shocked if it didn't do at least 600k buys in the US. The hype for this fight is unreal right now. Hours and hours of dedicated programming for the fight on multiple channels every day for weeks now.

It's not going to do Mayweather/Pacquiao/Canelo numbers because neither of these guys have that level of fanbase, but let's not forget Buster Douglas v Evander Holyfield did 1 million buys even though neither had a big fanbase at the time.

When the media decides to hype a heavyweight title fight and treat it like a big deal, casual fans get interested. Even my mom called me about the fight because she saw Wilder and Fury on some singing show on Fox and now she's ordering the fight. The buzz is definitely crossing over to the mainstream in a way we haven't seen for a heavyweight fight since the Mike Tyson days.

According to this article they need 1 million buys just to break even. They might be in trouble.

I don't really understand what the enormous financial resources would be. Fox and ESPN devoted an incredible amount of airtime to promoting the fight, discussing the fight, airing shoulder programming for the fight, etc.

The idea that they need 1.1 or 1.2 million to break even due to "enormous financial resources" spent on the fight seems very strange. Not sure what Idec is referring to there.

It could have if it wasn’t in February. I bought the first Ppv and would have bought this if it had been in may. I’ve had some start of the year expenses come up so I’m actually not gonna spend on this one even though it’s the only Ppv worth getting this year probably. I’ll get the trilogy fight later in the year. February is a crap month to have a Ppv imo. It might do a million buys but even that will be tough

I don't this does a million buys (although the 3rd could). However, they have gone all out with the promotion. This fight is all over ESPN and Fox.
