There you have it. This is the reason Fury is being sent to the chopping block, not completely healed, confidence in disguise, & new trainer, Wilder will hurt him this time.

Arum is a promoter trying to promote a fight. So you can't expect him to give his honest prediction.

But the closer the fight gets, the more realistic it seems that the fight could break a million buys, which would be incredible considering the first fight only did 325k. Even if the rematch does 750k, that would still be the most successful heavyweight PPV in nearly 20 years.

I know a lot of people ordering this fight that only order the biggest of the biggest PPVs. Casuals that normally would only order a big Mayweather or Pacquiao fight. I can't even believe how many people are talking to me about this fight. So I could be totally wrong, but I really feel it can break 1 million. What Fox and ESPN have done for this fight is just beyond comprehension and boxing as a whole benefits from two networks of that size talking about boxing nonstop the way they have been. So hopefully other fights get a bump coming out of this one.

When old Bob 1st said that, I thought he was crazy. Now I've got people I know who never watch boxing telling me they're having fight parties or that their gonna get the fight this weekend.

For the sake of boxing I'm really hoping this fight succeeds. I think it has to do 2million at least. As stated above, FOX & ESPN have dumped a lot of money into promoting this fight & it's really a big gamble.

What some are failing to realize is, if FOX & ESPN don't make a substantial profit off this fight, then it's gonna be very unlikely that we seen a joint promotion again in the near future. It just wouldn't be worth it.

1 million buys after all this promo would be an absolute failure. Hell, GGG Canelo did a million 2x and people called the numbers mediocre & HBOs marketing wasn't even a fraction of what they did for this fight.

I just don't see the excitement for this fight like a floyd or tyson fight. 2 million buys seems to be pipe dream

To me, big time fights fall into three categories: a boxing event, a sporting event and a media event.

A boxing event appeals only to boxing fans, but if it becomes a sporting event, it appeals to sport fans and is covered in the local newspaper's sports section leading up to the fight and highlighted in the local t.v. news sports segment.

A media event is the ultimate and is covered as the lead-in to both local and national t.v. broadcasts, and also makes the front page of local newspapers. It even makes the national news the following monday.

Think about it, Ali-Frazier, pac-floyd were the lead-in story on the morning news shows following the fight. I doubt fury-wilder will become a media event -- it does not have the national buzz of other big time fights.

I don't think Lester Hold will be talking about the fight Monday night.

Their marketing costs for this fight are HIGH.

They need huge numbers. If it's sub 800k I'd call that a financial disaster

Fight parties don’t equal more buys. They equal less buys, people chipping in to buy the fight because $80 is too much for such an unpredictable product.

1 home buying the fight and inviting 20 people is still just $80 bucks.
