Bob Arum Reiterates: Top Rank for Sale

"Endeavor, here we are," Arum said. "We're talking to Endeavor. We're talking to Liberty Global. We're talking to DAZN. I met with [DAZN owner] Leonard Blavatnik last week. We'll see. Maybe we don't sell.

Arum actually mentioned on Mannix's podcast he is open to this but just hasn't found the right suitor yet. Blavatnik owning TR would be interesting but not sure what they do during the remaining years of the ESPN deal. Wonder when they have an out? If they have one?

Endeavor owning TR and UFC would give them all the leverage on ESPN for future negotiations.

There are rumors that Arum was looking for 250-300M for TR. Does anyone bite on that figure?

Don’t think a sale will happen. If it did, though, DAZN/Blavatnik makes more sense.

It would make sense, Arum is almost 90.

I don't see DAZN buying though. They've been bleeding money from boxing for a year and a half with nothing to show for it.

AND, it will make DAZN a better company with a better roster.

DAZN would expose their fights on a global scale. DAZN already broadcasting PBC fights in other countries PBC can’t reach. I would expect ESPN would broadcast the US fights until that contract expires. DAZN get it done!

Think of how much Top Ranks video catalogue would be worth. All of the Ali fights, Sugar Ray, etc. etc. They own all those fights.

That's definitely valuable but the question is how valuable? He's refused in the past to even think about selling the vault.

A big player will have to step in and buy majority stake of Top Rank. Arum is 90, but his stepson and the crew have been doing most of the heavy lifting for years anyways. Question is, does he want to give the company to his stepson when he is dead or rather sell it now and leave to his blood family?

                Can't blame him.
Who can keep up with the sky high prices fighters are demanding?
PBC is probably just waiting for a buyer.

This sport is going to the dogs.

... The problem, these days, is that such a "big player"doesn't exist...
