Comments Thread For: Ramirez-Alvarez WBO Title Eliminator: Top Rank Lone Bidder

Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez's pursuit of a title in a second weight division will either come with present company and at a discount, or by different means other than his current course of action. The longtime promotional outfit was the lone bidder for the World Boxing Organization (WBO)-ordered eliminator, submitting an accepted offer of $350,000 during a purse bid hearing held Thursday morning at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The fight isn’t going to happen.

Zurdo isn’t going to fight Alvarez for $175,000 and that bid tells me Top Rank and his relationship is the over.

That's a disrespectful bid given what other fighters are earning these days

Funny you should say that because Top Rank was in fact the highest bidder.

What is REALLY disrespectful is that nobody but Top Rank bid higher then $100,000.

Zurdo won't accept this fight, he's your typical Mexican fighter, always looking for easy opposition, he's overrated.....
