I am not arguing about whether Ward would have won...that isn't the point...the point is in how can you defend a man on this point -

He said - 'The winner of this tourney should fight Bute'...then 2 fights later, he is the winner...and he says Bute hasn't fought anyone and doesn't deserve the fight!!!

That is bullsh.it man...like Ward or not, how can you try and defend that.

Like you don't have to defend everything about a guy lol...just say 'yeah that was some bullsh.it' and move on.

Btw - Bute fought Glen Johnson 10 days before Froch fought Ward in the final...and Glen lost to Froch in the semis of the Super 6!!!

I actually said I didn't agree with Ward's position, right after the first part of my post that you highlighted. Trying to understanding someone isn't the same as defending them. And you're right, Glen Johnson did end up entering the field as a replacement I believe.

2. It's easier to move up when you start at a lower weight class

3. Canelo didn't face the same Kovalev that Ward did

Syles make fights. Bute was a very good awkward southpaw with a high work rate. A stylistic nightmare for Ward and he knew it which is exactly why it was always duck season whenever Bute's name was brought up.

since when was andre ward bad against southpaws or against punchers? he's left handed FFS.


lucian bute was hugely overrated . what's his best win? again, you'd have a leg to stand on if he ever did anything worth a damn. you overrated the guy. you don't base whether or not a fighter ducks somebody based on a misconception. you don't evaluate a fighter historically based on a misconception! if bute had gotten through froch and ward didn't fight him you'd have a leg to stand on. but you do not!

you all went oooh and ahh for two reasons; he was a puncher and he was not andre ward. hard puncher, very overrated fighter.
