Comments Thread For: Fury: Rematch With Wilder Biggest Heavyweight Fight In 50 Years, Since Ali-Frazier

LAS VEGAS Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko are commonly considered boxing's two biggest heavyweight events of this century. Tyson Fury feels his rematch against Deontay Wilder on Saturday night is bigger than those fights. The ever-confident Fury went as far Tuesday as to call their second showdown for Wilder's WBC title the biggest heavyweight fight since legendary rivals Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier squared off for the first time in what was billed as "The Fight of the Century" nearly 49 years ago.

Bigger than the Rumble in the Jungle? Sure, sure...

Lewis/Tyson, Tyson/Holyfield II both bigger fights. I'm sure there are others.

No where near that but the buzz for this fight is definitely growing and could possibly be the biggest fight of this year barring if this fight is good and the 3rd could be bigger.

I don't buy into the Tyson myth but his fight vs Spinks was bigger. Tyson held ALL the belts and Spinks was lineal even though he was just there for the pay cheque. Wilder only has WBC.

We keep getting this narrative shoved down our throat that this is a big fight but it ain't even close, just a regular fight. Credit to the big promotion machines behind it but I believe the post fight numbers will reveal this to be just an ordinary fight. 2 million buys, pls get Arum off his rockers. First you have two guys who cant even draw flies to ish campaigning for a rematch that nobody is demanding. I 'll even say that Joshua v Ruiz was more anticipated than this and it certainly will turn out to be a bigger fight than this. Tyson-Holyfield, Floyd Manny, even though those fights already lost its lustre, the demand for it was still through the roof, those are big fights. This is a big fight for Tyson and Wilder, thats about it. Now Wilder vs Joshua, u already know that would be a through the roof big fight
