Yet this guy thinks all the sudden this new and Canelo just wants to fight in May to get an advantage on Plant???

every fighter needs to make sure they dont' fight between january and may in case canelo wants to fight them. no boxing between then. then if they dont get the canelo fight they shouldnt box between may and september for a chance to get the september canelo fight. october through december should be the only time a boxer fights

Why should Plant take the fight on short notice?
It's another tactic to give Canelo an advantage.
Alvarez is rested and healed up from his last fight.
I don't understand why boxing fans defend him having every advantage. He is a good fighter,but no reason to manipulate every single fight. Man up and give your opponent a level playing field.

If plant declines the may offer, he probably won't get another chance to fight Canelo.

It's not like they have the same promoter.

I do think no matter what Plant should take the Canelo fight even though he would get beat. Being beat by Canelo won't stop the Benavidez fight but being beat by Benavidez stops the money train for sure with Canelo

1. He didn't appear to take much damage in his last fight

2. Kovalev fought on short notice at 36 years old and coming off of a grueling fight with Anthony Yarde. Plant is eight years younger and his win was completely one-sided.

3. The quick turnaround might make Caleb Plant sharper for a potential fight on May 2nd

4. A Canelo fight is seen as a golden ticket.

Again, only Caleb Plant knows whether or not he would have enough time to rest and prepare and it's his career. I would never criticize a fighter for doing what he feels is best because ultimately he has to live with his choices.

This worked for Ruiz. He got the golden ticked and went straight to the gym after his fight with Dimitrenko and he's now a millionaire.

Exactly!!! The Plant we saw this past weekend seemed to bring more to the table than the Kovalev we say vs Canelo.
One explosive 3 punch combo from Plant and who knows...
