  • Comments Thread For: Wilder: If Fury Takes The Fight To Me, It's Gonna Be A Short Night!

Deontay Wilder doesn't know whether to believe Tyson Fury when the brash Brit boldly claims he'll aggressively go after Wilder early in their rematch next week. What Wilder does know is that if Fury pressures him, that'll make it easier to finish Fury in their second 12-round fight for Wilder's WBC heavyweight title. England's Fury is a slight favorite to win when they square off again February 22 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but he is widely expected to take a tactical approach with Wilder.

Actually, Wilder was in trouble the most when the opponent wasn't afraid to trade with him. That's why he got rocked by Molina, Dahaupas, Ortiz.

Wilder wants to create a narrative that trading with him is bad, when Wilder benefits the most when he got space and range to land his right hand.

Generally youre in the worst position when you're just sitting there at long range letting Wilder comfortably snipe at you. I think Fury needs to strike a balance of doing what he did in the first fight but also at times being more aggressive, trying to get inside and rough Wilder up. Theres just too much risk in giving Wilder 12 rounds to look for his shot.

        Wilder

I saw the fight. Wilder was robbed with that bogus count. Fury went down. Reiss started his count. He looks over at the official timekeeper (a female) who was not even watching the fight upon impact. She was talking to the other female timekeeper???? She flashed the count at one after Fury had been down on the canvass four seconds. Reiss had four fingers up and went back to one. Unscrupulous behavior. I never seen a referee shout in the ear of a downed fighter like that either???

Translation: I'll be in big trouble.

If Fury can actually be able to close the gap and not let Wilder have his distance, it will indeed be a short night for Wilder.

I mean what other game plan is there if you want to put Deontay to sleep? Wilder wants his distance to launch his bomb, so why let him have it?

Says it right there, what Fury is saying he'll do, and what he actually does, are likely going to be two completely different things . . .

Fury said himself that no matter what he says nobody will believe him so it doesn't matter we won't know till fight night really

Fury needs to use size and strength to rough him up and when he does hit, to really hit with bad intentions

Haha, yes, I agree. Fury is unpredictable, so who knows?!
I hope he does but suspect he won't though.

I love the Kronx gym the Hearns etc for their big hitting aggressive styles .That is not Tyson Fury and if Fury tries to invent it for this fight Wilder will be proved right.I think it's more minds games from Tyson to keep Wilder at bay whilst Tyson pecks away with his jab and well placed one two's.
I thought Tyson nicked the first but I see Wilder stopping him this time.
