I love Canelo but no effin' way he's beating Beterbiev or Bivol so please don't include 175 in there just cause of the Kovalev fight. 168 is interesting but I still think that Canelo would be at a huge disadvantage there against the likes of Smith, Plant, and Benavidez. Canelo really needs to stick to 160.
Fans ACTUALLY believe Plant can beat Canelo?

I honestly think Canelos detractors see what they wanna see more than his most ardent supporters do.It's pretty ****ing weird. If Canelo wasn't around I genuinely believe some of these guys would hardly watch boxing. Not even sure how much they watch as it is. Canelo has become this unbeatable monster yet I've yet to actually see him dominate any legit fighter. He's great but some of his fans put him on an unbelievable pedestal.
Theres a reason hes now being viewed as a favorite over fighters in divisions he was never supposed to be able to be competitive in. I am a big Nelo fan but I have never overrated him as being near unbeatable but now hes become such a monster that despite being the cashcow who everyone has always been willing to fight & never ducked before because he wasn't known as a ko guy,now suddenly you have guys ducking legit offers made by a fighter who has tons of options & every bargaining chip for several times their highest potential payday, these are guys who tower over him & who can fight as high as CW if they didn't boil down,& who not long ago were seeing Canelo as easy money. (& The offer to Smith had no clause)
It takes a blind man to not see why Canelo is a step above the rest til now,he fights anyone & he most definitely dominated the Pinnacle version of Jacobs who had a weight advantage & same advantage he didn't have vs Deryev when he had IBF rehydration clause fight before. He dominated the supposed biggest puncher boogieman in mw for decades in the rematch.(he walked him down & broke his face so bad he ran outta the ring crying to avoid the humiliating questions kellerman warned him hed ask beforehand if he ducked the Mexican style fight he demanded)Comment

It would be difficult for Plant to keep Canelo off of him for 12 rounds. The fight would probably be interesting for awhile until Plant wears out. Canelo by late stoppage.Comment

I don't think Plant or Smith can beat Canelo right now. I think BJS, with fair scoring, could maybe dance his way to a decision.
Canelo vs. Plant would be the most exciting fight though. That's the fight I'd want to see the most out of any potential super middleweight unifications.Comment

Pinnacle version of Jacobs? The Jacobs who slowed down significantly after his war with GGG? The same Jacobs who was struggling to make 160 for a while? As for GGG,on what planet did he get dominated? Even on the scorecards canelo one by a single round on 2 scorecards, and was given a draw on the 3rd. There's no way you can say canelo dominated anything when a single round scored towards ggg on either of the two other cards would have made the fight a draw.I honestly think Canelos detractors see what they wanna see more than his most ardent supporters do.

I’m with you. Plant is a big strong guy, wide back. But I watched him from head to toe tonight. “Sweet hands” is a good nickname because I don’t see anything else he does anywhere near as good. He has a wide sideways stance, not unlike Tyszu used to have with the right hand ****ed. That’s fine, he throws nice punches, but his feet are flat and not quick and he doesn’t have all world power. He keeps his left very low and he pulls straight back and tries do to his version of sum cute shoulder roll. He doesn’t protect his head with his hands instead tries to be slick with it. He backs into the ropes, ducks low, protects his body and thinks he can mongoose. He’s just not as slick or as fast as he thinks. I like when he uses his jab, up and down, and mixes in the uppercut. Still he’s not going to be able to throw four, five, six, punch combos against a top guy let alone a crisp counter puncher like Nelo. If we pay attention to his feet and that weird “cute” defence they aren’t great. I’m sure he can get much better, he’s only had 20 fights after all. He’s a big strong kid that lets his hands go more than anything in my opinion at this point. I mean I know there’s others that cringed at that defensive style too.Plant could've ended the fight from the 5th rd tops,& should've. Horrible performance imho against a D level but he still dominated the entire fight.
And yes I think Canelo would win easy work vs Plant after what I saw tonight. But thats the thing Canelo has gone from"won't fight so & so because hes scared of real prime champs" to suddenly now being the favorite over anyone below lhw,in the eyes of his detractors of all people.
Plant imho wouldn't be able to land on Canelo & would leave his hands at home like the rest for fear of being countered by a thousand razors with Lazer precision,he was completely gunshy & let this terrible Opponent stick around a good 5 rds too long for no reason other than to make himself look worried of blasting him out for fear of a lucky counter.
All Plant had to do was flurry several rds earlier & hed get the stoppage from dudes corner of all people.
They should've thrown in the towel several rds earlier dude had no chance of anything but braindamage at that pt.
Plants stock went way down in my book tonight,in that I thought hed give Canelo work but sadly I think hed get kod because hes way too gunshy & afraid to engage, that doesn't beat current Canelo imoComment

The title is about Plant. I enjoyed watching the Plant vs Feigenbutz bout. It wasn’t competitive at all, but the German had some moments in the fight where the “middleweight” (said PBC Commentary) was able to bop Plant’s head back rather awkwardly. Either Feigenbutz hella strong for having no boxing pedigree, or, Plant got lucky as Caleb Truax did when he won his 168 against DeGale.... then came Subway sandwich spoke man Lee and now Feigenbutz.... I mean seriously even Benavidez had to make jokes about it.
Josh Kelly looked impressive too. Showboater, fast quick, speedy, great defensive tricks... ok...
I think Plant is seriously overrated. It took him 11 rounds to rid of Feigenbutz whom was impressive with a high guard shield taking combos that in many times Plant couldn’t rip through.
Therefore, Canelo’s guards are way stronger and stiffer. Forget that Canelo is the best in the game to bait counters using a guard. Canelo has every trick in the book to bait Plant let alone that the hillbilly has to worry about REAL POWER.Comment
