Its turned into a 'who can beat the bum quickest' competition, rather than them fight each other we work out who is the best by whoever knocked out the no hoper opponent the quickest. I dont think any of them will step up their competition considerably any time soon.

We are still waiting on the 30 year olds in this era to step up their competition. Charlo, Crawford, etc.

      • If he can trash Linares in a similar fashion, then I'll be a believer.

        • He has gone 10 RDS twice and 8 RDS once and you want to throw him in with 135 champs?

I know a guy who has been 9 rounds only once. Should he not be the wba champion because of that?

Ok so then you must be very unimpressed with Lomachenko who was even going into the 10th with Linares and got dropped in the process?

So for you Garcia has to KO Linares early to be a “ believer”

                Smh the standards huh lol

Pull counters and catch-and-shoots. They picked up some defensive tricks from Floyd. No matter how much that might bother you.

I have no particular standard for Garcia yet, and I'm just exaggerating a bit. He's still in the prospect phase, but the way he's handling C-level fighters means he's ready for a step-up. No, he doesn't have to utterly destroy Linares to get credit, but it would obviously mean more than stopping Fonseca. If he can outbox Linares all night and then stop him, I'd be more impressed as Linares is rarely out-boxed. Linares' issue has always been durability. He may be the perfect opponent to tell us how much Garcia has developed.

Garcia's youth and physical dimensions are gonna provide certain offensive opportunities that Loma simply doesn't have. Loma is an aging smaller fighter who stopped Linares with a body shot. I think Garcia is capable of stopping Linares earlier than Loma did, and he'd stop Linares with a head shot.
