Oscar DLH: Callum Smith Turns Down Canelo Alvarez Offer
BJS always seemed like the frontrunner after the Murata fight fell through, but looks like Smith had an offer here. No idea how much money was offered or what truly happened, but either DLH is trying to put pressure on Smith to accept whatever offer they have or is giving a reason of why BJS will be next. Kind of like, "well, we are fighting him, because Smith turned down the offer." I don't know, but either way get ready for Canelo vs BJS on May 2nd, 2020.Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya tells ESPN that super middleweight world titlist Callum Smith turned down an offer to face Canelo Alvarez at super middleweight on May 2. "Callum Smith turned down the fight. I wish him all the best. He’s bragging how he wants to fight the best and he turns it down. Whats wrong with these fighters?"Tags: None -

you want the big purses, beat the money man... but they all know they are going to lose and therefore trying to cash out... sad... -
Yeah just saw this. Funny how when Smith and Murata turn down offers (allegedly) ODH tells the press immediately.Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya tells ESPN that super middleweight world titlist Callum Smith turned down an offer to face Canelo Alvarez in at super middleweight on May 2. maybe cuz last year they still had the mando situation with the wbc ??
but its also funny how charlo was very vocal about fighting canelo, but when the offer is made public he goes quiet as a mouse...
maybe he was trying to sell his zero for a mando split...
he now knows he isnt going to get it and no longer interested in taking a beating by the hands of canelo...Comment

Yea real funny. Too bad when u in the "other side" you see nothing funny about literally anything no matter what, from whoever, not even a eyebrow raiseComment

Interesting deflection. Charlo has been quiet. That said, even you have to find it somewhat interesting that ODH tells the media immediately when Murata and Smith refuse deals but waits over a year to tell us about Charlo.maybe cuz last year they still had the mando situation with the wbc ??

oscar is using murata and smith to negotiate with BJS... a way of saying, look those guys didnt get the fight cuz asking too much... it would have been really dumb to make public a 10 or 12 mil offer when they were trying to negotiate a 5.5 mil payday with dervy or a similar amount with kova, kova could have asked for more than that...
even today he wouldnt make the financial details public cuz other fighters will try to ask for similar money, same thing happened with jacobs...Comment
