168 is cool. Plant vs Benavidez would be interesting. Plant might drive Benavidez crazy with movement?

He’s at the weight class Canelo is in and the ggg has talked about going to. Callum Smith and ggg are represented by Matchroom and fight on dazn but there has been no attempt to tear down Plant.....so very interesting. As Arsenio Hall said, “things that make you go hmmmmmmm.....”
What's not to get? He's a nobody spoiler who best case scenario, one of your guys beats easily, and gets no real credit...and worst case Plant beats him easily and you lose to a nobody for no money...why bring him up at all...he is like what BJS or Andrade would be if they weren't with DAZN...completely irrelevant instead of just at the bottom of most guy's lists.

Sorry, is this a face value reply or are implying my response is some kind of boilerplate race card accusation intended to "silence" you or something? It's the internet and I don't know you so not sure.

I'll throw you a bone and say maaaybe you're onto something, but the distinct lack of both:

A)threads by "Matchroom types" singing Plant's praises and

B)threads by "PBC types" who frequently go to bat for that roster singing Plant's praises

...suggests to me that nobody talks much about Plant in general and that the supposed lack of criticism from "Matchroom types" is just as or more likely an extension of that prevailing indifference than it is some kind of active agenda. For better or worse he just doesn't move the needle much thus far and no overzealous nerd is making 20 Caleb Plant threads a day...most Plant discussion is relegated to headlines bearing his name, like this one, and is pretty scant at that. I think this one is a reach personally

I see Plant as one of the more skilled champs and may just pull ahead for the pack at 168. So far ai like what I see. Good movement, throws combinations, uses his jab, good defense. He’s better than Smith IMO.

I like how Plant has been coming out and setting the tone early on his two recent fights. Obviously, much easier to do against Mike Lee who was out there stumbling and bumbling..but still, good uptick in urgency from Plant.

Been following him for a bit and still the issue might be stamina and tailing off in mid-to-late rounds (7-10)...I noticed he did that in plenty of fights-he starts good, crowd is interested, they're reacting to his "sweet hands"...but then he tapers off. Thought it was just because he was ahead in so many of those fights but not sure anymore, he almost fell apart against Uzi and wasn't even taking that much punishment to constitute that level of unraveling. Anyway, he's got plenty of skills, definitely one of PBC's better former prospects that have been built to title holders who didn't have a name before them....skillful and he also thinks he's better than he is, I find it all pretty funny.

Love that fight against Benavidez, I hope that fight happens soon. As good as Benavidez can look, a good jab stops him in his tracks and stands him straight up. Plant would have a lot to work with from the Benavidez/Gavril fight in how to use the jab high and low against Benavidez. Can maintain that the whole fight though, doubt it.

What's to "get"? He made a weak ass argument for a supposed racial agenda to give Plant an eternal NSB hall pass, and his "brilliant" rebuttal to a sensible response to why that angle is inconclusive at best is...that. Yeah, whoosh right over my head, clearly.
